I usually dont buy books. Seeing that most can be downloaded online for free. However there are certain books that I’ve lost and have to buy again because of how inspiring they have been to me…
1. The Art of War- Sun Tzu
To fight and conquer in all our battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without even fighting- Sun Tzu
Written by a chinese general in the 6th century BC during the spring and autumn period Its written in simple but succinct phrases that deal with complex military strategy and tactics. Its so good that it has crossed over into business and managerial strategies. The principles it speaks on have helped me in disciplining myself.
2. The Four Agreements- Don Miguel Ruiz
One of my favorite books. Miguel Ruiz a new age shaman that shares toltec wisdom. He speaks on interpersonal and relationship principles that help us to free us from our limitations and negative habits. He breaks them down into four principles:
i. Be impeccable with your word.
ii. Dont take anything personal.
iii. Dont make assumptions.
iv. Always do your best.
3. The 4 Hour Work Week
Im excited to get this book. I’ve heard so many good things of it liberating people from their drab 9-5. This is the only book on this list I havent read before so Im looking forward to it with no expectations, so I wont be disappointed.
